About Unity
Unity is a different kind of church. Most would describe us as pentecostal, but we are a non-denominational church. Our roots are planted firmly in the bible, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The things we do at Unity are things that Jesus did, and commanded his disciples to do. We believe in gifts of the Spirit like healing, tongues and prophecy, but we also believe that those gifts require the character of Christ, so they won’t be abused. Our services are loud at times, our Praise and Worship is passionate, and sometimes we stay a bit longer than most are used to. We have a program, and sometimes we follow it. But it’s not unusual for things to go a different direction altogether. We are about being led by the Holy Spirit, and that’s what we try to do every week.
Our leadership strongly emphasizes the importance and uniqueness of each member in the church. We all have a purpose and a destiny, and it is their job to help us discover and reach that destiny. Similarly, it is our responsibility as members to keep our leadership lifted up in prayer. It may sound like a team working together, but it’s more than that, it’s family
But even families have rough times, and we are no exception. Sometimes things go well for us, sometimes life can be hard to bear. Our members didn’t become members because they had life figured out. For many of us, it’s the exact opposite. We know that we need God’s love and we found it here. That name Unity means something. Not the way the world has twisted the word to mean acceptance of anything and everything, but the kind of unity that can only come when you love each other unconditionally. And that can only happen when God is the giver of that love.
To the left, you’ll find links to some pages that talk about our history, and our vision, as well as an official Statement Of Faith. If you’ve already visited, we encourage you to come back, if you haven’t visited us yet, please come and share a few hours with us. If you haven’t been to church for a while, and you’re not sure how to dress, don’t worry about it. Come as you are. We hope to see you soon!
